Vintage Italian 800 Solid Silver Figurine Diogenes 227grams Bausi Bruno 1949-68

Description

Just out of a local smoke free house is this fine Mid Century solid 800 silver figurine of Diogenes of Sinope on an onyx base. It depicts Diogenes as an old man holding a lantern as he was searching for an honest man. The figurine has the 800 silver mark and the Italian makers mark. This mark is listed as the workshop of Bausi Bruno of Firenze Italy. The marks correspond to those used from 1944-1968. The silver figurine was removed from the base to determine the weight of the silver. The figurine weighs about 227 grams or about 7.3 ounces. We do not know if the threaded bolts on the figure are silver. It was then reinstalled on its onyx base. The figurine on its base measures about 4 1/2 inches high, about 2 3/4 inches wide, and about 2 5/8 inches deep. The silver figure and onyx base are in excellent condition.
