Vintage 1970s Peruvian Hand Woven Wool Folk Art Tapestry Wall Hanging - V. Yuri "Stone Village" Sold at Southern Cross Trading Company.
Measures just shy of 40" x 40".  Signed V. Yuri in right hand corner, woven into design.   Handmade on traditional looms, and with the exception of the cotton warp threads is 100% Wool. All dyes are made from natural sources such as bugs, leaves, flowers, as well as other interesting items.  Made of thick bundled and wrapped wool and depicts a traditional village scene.   "Stone Village" by V. Yuri c1970s.
There are a few loose cotton warp threads, otherwise this is in very good condition.   This wall hanging does NOT come with the wooden wall hanging bars that stabilize it, and that fit within the pockets at the top and bottom back of this tapestry.   The pockets are 39 inches long and 1.25 inch deep.
This is a previously owned item, that was very lovingly cared for.
