You are buying a beautiful new heavy beer stein from the U.S. Army's 110th Military Intelligence Battalion "Sentinels of the Summit."  The stein features the 110th Military Intelligence Battalion's Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) on one side and the U.S. Army Officer rank/insignia of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) on the reverse.

Originally constituted into the regular Army as 4 provisional companies attached to the 10th Support Command on 28 June 1988, the 110th Military Intelligence Battalion was activated at Fort Drum, New York on 13 December 1988 as a separate battalion of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry).
Since it's inception, the battalion has distinguished itself in virtually all of the Division's deployments and major training exercises.  Among them, humanitarian relief in support of Hurricane Andrew Relief operations, Operations Restore and Continue Hope in Somalia, and most recently the first full battalion deployment to Haiti in support of Operation Uphold Democracy.
On 30 November 1995, the Battalion activated a fifth company to the current structure.  Delta Company, a general support company, was added to the roster of the Battalion's already strong and steadfast roll call.  The Battalion deployed a platoon in support of Operation Joint Guard/Joint Endeavor from 2 September 1997 to 12 July 1998, and spent an 8 month battalion deployment to Bosnia as part of SFOR in support of Operation Joint Forge."

"A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure (Oriental Blue), a chevronnel debased Or, below two griffins' heads in fess point erased addorsed and conjoined of the like.  Attached below the shield a Black scroll inscribed "SENTINELS OF THE SUMMIT" in Gold."
