Description
Traditional Pattern Sounding Lead100% Pure Lead - Made in U.S.A.
3 pound weight
Can be used as a primary depth-finding device, or as a backup for electronics. Typically this would be attached to a light line which is measured off with tags, knots, or paint markings every fathom or so (known as a 'lead line').
PLAIN FINISH:
We had these made at a local foundry. Each one is individually poured - no two leads are exactly alike. Plain finish will contain some grooves, casting marks, etc. Can be sanded and painted, or used "as is" since lead is non-ferrous and can't rust. Once it's been used, it develops a salty gray patina.
