Shipibo Original Cloth hard to find
This is not a comercial shipibo cloth, it is a backgrounds of hand-spun, backstrap loomed white cotton. it is called chitonti, the word chitonti means literally a lenght of fabric, but it used to mean a skirt.
Kene means design in the shipibo language. a characteristic design sytem that is expressed in fabrics, woods and ceramics.
Kene motifs have their origin in the shipibo's cosmology and according to their ancestral belief, are inspired by the anaconda, which would combine all the motif variations on its skin, kene designs were declared National Cultural Heritage
