    Description

This beautiful textile is made by Peruvian artisans, it is a reproduction style that covers the Paracas culture of pre-Columbian Peru. You can see the Incas harvesting the fruit called nopal.
The prickly pear was known, cultivated and consumed by the ancient inhabitants of Peru.
The first evidence of the use of prickly pear in Peru was found near the cave of Pachamachay (Junín), in this site seeds of this fruit of an age of more than 11,800 years were found. Later, remains of prickly pear and other cacti were found, which are part of the offerings with which the dead were buried, such as hooks, pins or combs, made with the thorns of these species. Tuna remains have also been found as part of the building material in some pre-Hispanic buildings.
