    Description

    Up for bid is a vintage European 800 silver lidded canister box with fluted sides. The piece is 3 inches tall by 2 3/8 inches wide and weighs 135 grams.  It is hexagonal in form, with a hinged lid and fluted sides.  The lid top is decorated with flat-chased scrolls, and there are stamped florets on the side ribs.  The interior is gilded.  It has not been monogrammed.  It is marked “800”, with a separate mark of a serpent in a triangle.  It may be Italian.
    Condition on the box is good.  There are a few shallow dents in the foot, but otherwise just normal wear.  A nice piece!
