    One in a series of hand-painted magic lantern slides entitled 'The Elephant's Revenge', made by Newton and Company in 1870.
    The series tells the story of what happens when a man taunts an elephant. This is the eighth slide in the series, showing the elephant dangling the man over a crocodile waiting with open jaws.
