    Description

This lovely little late 19th c. Rococo style .800 silver Austrian candy or bonbon dish was made in Vienna c.1895.  A possible maker is Rudolf Oswald who was active from 1890-1924.  The dish is 3" in diameter and 1.5" tall.  It weighs 41.3 grams.  It has no damage that I can observe and has a great old mellow patina.  The picture of the hallmark shows the "Diana Head" with the number 3 (indicating fineness of .800) and the letter A for Vienna.  This mark was used from 1867-1922.  It also has a maker's mark RO which might be Rudolf Oswald's mark.
