This auction is for
a top quality classic
Art Deco
900 Silver Cigarette Case
I believe from the early 1920s.
It is made by the renowned
German silversmith
Louis Kuppenheim
and the craftsmanship is evident
in the weight and quality of it.
The silver has a beautiful pink
Guilloche enamel design
with a concealed hinge at the back
and a lip at the front for ease of opening.
The inside of the case has retained
its gilding
and the bezel has the makers initials
LK hallmark.
It is marked 900 (Silver)
hallmark of Louis Kuppenheim (Germany)
442 marks.
The case has a good strong feel
and it is in good pre-owned condition.
On the back side corner
there is a chip of enamel loss
as pointed out in a photo.
Some surface scratches to the Guilloche
front and back
as well as the sides of the case.
