Antique Vintage Metal Filigree Trinket Box With Key

This is a lovely trinket box with working key that used to belong to my mother.
I do not see any marks on this so I do not know if it is silver or not.  It was in my dads silver items that I found after he passed away.
The filigree work is lovely!  The bottom looks like 2 hearts to me.  The side handles do move and the lock still works.
Please see photos for details and contact me with any questions.  This can use a cleaning, but I did not know the best way to do that.  I will leave that to you.
