Antique Pair of Large Austria-Hungary Silver Dinner Candlesticks

Description

Presented is a pair of large dinner-sized silver candlesticks from Austria-Hungary. The pair were made between 1886-1922. The sticks have fine machine-turned decorations and classical form. Their bottoms have been refelted recently with green felt. The pair have never been monogrammed.
The candlesticks are marked on the base and shaft with the Austrian Diana mark in a 5-lobed punch for 800 silver purity. The bases are also marked with the initials SC for the maker. We have tested the pair with nitric acid and guarantee them to be 800 purity silver.
The condition is excellent. There is minor surface wear. These are in very very good shape for their age! There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The candlesticks measure 6 1/8 inches in diameter and about 11 1/2 inches tall. VERY LARGE!
The weight is 5200 grams or 11 pounds 6 ounces. The pair are weighted, and we believe that most of the weight is the filler material.
