    Description

    Presented is an antique pair of Belgian silver serving tongs made during the early 19th century. These tongs are very decorative and were made during the 1830s. The tongs have an old, script form monogram of the initials LH. The arms are chased with scrolls, shells and the feet are done in a paw or claw form.
    The tongs bear the double headed Belgian silver mark for minimum 800 purity. There is also a Minerva head duty mark and a maker's hallmark.
    This piece is in great overall condition for its age. There is a missing claw from one of the paws, but as you can see in the first photograph, this is hardly noticeable.
