1901 one-page lithograph print from a N.Y. Herald made up of R. F. Outcault's comic strips.N.Y. Herald Sunday comic dealing with humorous adventures (although many are politically incorrect by today's standards) of Lil Mose and his animal friends including various escapades in New York City.
This is a spectacular illustration of Lil Mose at Coney Island with his ocean friends. A great piece that speaks to the period and NYC Coney Island in the summer.
Richard Felton Outcault (January 14, 1863 – September 25, 1928) was an
American cartoonist
. He was the creator of the series The Yellow Kid and Buster Brown and is considered a key pioneer of the modern comic strip.
Scarce original vintage print Pore Lil Mose, "At Coney Island"." Image size is 10" x 14", 16 x 20.25" framed. In excellent condition with bright original colors.
Double matted with wood frame. Frame is in good condition with some wear, has brown paper on back and wire for hanging. Print has not been inspected outside of frame but appears to be in excellent condition without tears and sharp colors and some minimal toning to paper.
